Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, validate, and manage geological data, including drill core logs, assays, and geological models.
  • Develop and interpret 3D geological models using specialized software (e.g., Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine).
  • Perform geological resource estimation using appropriate statistical and geostatistical methods.
  • Ensure resource estimates comply with industry standards such as the JORC Code or SAMREC Code.
  • Collaborate closely with exploration geologists, mine planners, and metallurgists.
  • Prepare detailed geological reports, resource statements, and technical presentations.
  • Conduct geological mapping and core logging during field campaigns.
  • Assist in the planning and supervision of drilling programs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of geological modeling and estimation workflows.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological resource estimation.
  • Proven experience with geological modeling and resource estimation software.
  • Strong understanding of geostatistical principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with mineral resource reporting codes (JORC, SAMREC).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to the mine site near Mahikeng, North West for fieldwork.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., GSSA) is an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility.
  • Opportunity to contribute significantly to resource definition and company growth.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • Relocation assistance may be considered.
