Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is a cutting-edge exploration company seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist specializing in Seismic Data Analysis to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. The successful candidate will be instrumental in interpreting seismic data to identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, evaluate subsurface structures, and guide exploration strategies. We are looking for an analytical thinker with a passion for uncovering geological insights through advanced geophysical methods.
This remote-first role emphasizes collaboration through digital platforms and requires excellent self‑management skills.
- Processing and interpreting 2D/3D seismic data to delineate subsurface structures and identify potential hydrocarbon accumulations.
- Performing seismic attribute analysis, velocity modeling, and depth conversion.
- Integrating seismic data with well log and geological information to build robust subsurface models.
- Utilizing advanced geophysical software packages for data interpretation and analysis.
- Collaborating remotely with geologists, reservoir engineers, and other geoscientists.
- Contributing to exploration target selection and risk assessment.
- Staying abreast of the latest advancements in seismic acquisition, processing, and interpretation techniques.
- Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations for internal review and external partners.
- Mentoring junior team members on seismic interpretation best practices.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience in seismic data interpretation, preferably in exploration.
- Expertise with industry‑standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, Geo Graphix).
- Strong understanding of seismic data processing workflows and parameters.
- Proficiency in seismic attribute analysis, AVO analysis, and seismic inversion techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis automation is a plus.
- As a fully remote employee, you will receive a highly competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, a generous retirement savings plan, and significant opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
- Our client fosters a culture of innovation and collaboration, offering flexibility and autonomy.
- This role provides the unique opportunity to work on diverse global projects from the comfort of your home office, eliminating the need for relocation.
