What Your Job Will Be LikeDo you have a security background and want to use your leadership skills to join our Protective Force team at Sandia? If so, you could be the Protective Force Lieutenant for Center 09237, whom we are seeking to join our team! The selected candidate for this position should be an experienced, proactive, highly motivated individual who can guide and direct the day‑to‑day Shift activities of the Protective Force Security Police Officers while reporting to a Shift Captain.
Onany given day, you may be called on to
- Respond to alarms and implement compensatory measures for identified vulnerabilities in the system.
- Collaborate with Kirtland Airforce Base (KAFB), Emergency Management and local law enforcement personnel in response to emergency situations.
- Lead represented Protective Force personnel.
- Implement operational procedures in accordance with Department of Energy (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) orders, directives, and operational needs.
- Effectively collaborate with a multitude of customers and all levels of management to include DOE, NNSA, and Sandia Field Office (SFO).
- Maintain requirements as prescribed by DOE O 473.2A and CFR requirements.
- Support management with programmatic components of Protective Force such as Protective Force logistics, performance integration and training.
- At the direction of protective force management, implement policies and procedures and monitor the effectiveness and performance of security forces, where related to the armed protection of the site.
* The Protective Force operates 24/7/365, and the selected candidate must be willing to work up to 16 hours a day, including off‑hours, weekends, holidays, and in harsh weather conditions.
* This is a mission essential on‑site position, which requires personnel to report to work to ensure the continued security, operation, and success of our organization.
Salary Range$74,700 - $123,400
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We RequireBachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, plus five (5) years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. (AS+9 or no degree+13).
Leadership experience, such as current/previous Protective Force Operations, law enforcement, or Military experience.
Must currently have TRF-100 certification.
Must have a DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We DesireThree (3) years of relevant experience which may include Security activities such as law enforcement, SWAT, SRT, or Military operations.
Basic working knowledge of ES&H safety requirements.
leadership experience including writing, communications, facilitation, critical thinking and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise initiative with minimal direction and or supervision, be self‑motivated, and work in a team‑oriented environment.
