GSOC Associate Watch Officer

Position Summary

Under the guidance of a Senior GSOC Watch Officer and/or GSOC Watch Officer, this role maintains and operates a 24/7 Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) for the Erie Insurance Home Office and designated field offices. The role monitors technical security and fire/life safety systems, provides limited system support, and responds to alarms.

Salary Range: $48,371.00 – $77,269.00 (national range; may vary based on level and qualifications). Eligible for annual bonus.

• Serve as an Associate Watch Officer in a licensed 24‑hour GSOC for fire and security alarms.
• Follow established protocols and guidelines for alarm responses.
• Dispatch internal security officers and external emergency agencies for fire and security alarms.
• Initiate in‑house notifications to emergency responders and management personnel.
• Operate and monitor the ERIE digital video surveillance CCTV system to enhance safety and security.
• Operate and monitor the card access/security system for access control and alarm monitoring.
• Provide real‑time intelligence and incident escalation, including emergency communications via the emergency notification system.
• Support continuity and contingency plans for onsite offices, regional facilities, and enterprise operations.
• Assist with the operation, maintenance, and implementation of access/ and Visitor Management systems.
• Monitor and answer emergency employee phones, duress alarm locations, intercom stations, and video intercom locations.
• Formally initiate response to all emergency situations and requests for assistance according to established procedures.
• Assist in implementing crisis event response plans and procedures for fire alarms, security breaches, and other emergencies.
• Act as a liaison between Police, Fire, 911 Dispatch Centers, and related emergency departments.
• Prepare documentation and reports for all security‑related incidents, including logs, complaint reports, and video archive operations.
• Maintain continuity of all detailed records or evidential material in a clear and legible format.

• High school diploma or GED required;
  Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• At least two years of experience with security systems, card access systems, digital video systems, fire/life safety systems, or related fields.
• Experience working in an emergency command center or security surveillance environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, database, spreadsheet, and report‑writing software.
• Familiarity with security and fire/life safety policies, codes, and practices.
• Must be willing to work all shifts on a rotating basis, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
