The Security Department's overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory's mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage;
and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies. Where mission needs can be met, the Security Department encourages flexible schedules and hybrid remote work arrangements. Who are we? MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) whose mission is research in support of National Security.
* Mission - The Security Services Department's (SSD) overall mission is to ensure a safe and secure environment and protect MIT Lincoln Laboratory at all facilities in which staff members perform their mission of research and development. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage;
and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies. What will you do? You will be part of a fast-paced, highly visible team supporting Visitor and Credential operations. Will be responsible for providing customer service to a range of Laboratory personnel, consultants, vendors, sub-contractors, visiting sponsors, military personnel and other visitors as part of a small team.
General:
* Responsible for preparing for all visits and events at the Laboratory, to include assisting with the organization of and planning for approximately 70 major conferences, workshops, and special meetings each year
* Perform visitor access control for all visits utilizing internal and external applications in support of badge and access control
* Interface with the Laboratory community and visitors, via phone, email, and formal documentation to provide guidance and answers to inquiries
* Comply with Laboratory's administrative and security policies and relevant sections of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
* Processing, enrolling, activating, and issuing various forms of Identification () cards to include Laboratory badges, U.S. Air Force Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) card and logical access cards
* Administering the process for a Common Access Card (CAC) for Laboratory personnel
* Supporting other related facility access and identification functions
* Imaging personnel, printing, and issuing new access credentials
* Maintaining records and providing follow up and tracking for card issuance
* Tracking detailed metrics on volume and cycle times
* Maintaining badge stock and supplies and credential management communications
* Engaging with Air Force Base representatives on DBIDS & CAC card issues and procedural changes
* Facilitating on-boarding activities and briefing of new hires

For this position, you must meet these basic requirements.
* Associate's degree in Business Management, Security Management, Industrial Security, Criminal Justice or related field
* A minimum of two years of progressively responsible administrative experience desired
* Knowledge of the DoD Industrial Security program or related environment preferred
* knowledge of PCs and associated business software such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
* Ability to work successfully in team environments to meet schedule deadlines
* Must be able to organize and maintain hardcopy/ electronic files in an up-to-date order
* U.S. Citizenship required
* The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment investigation and must meet all eligibility requirements for access to classified information including compartmented programs
