Criminal Information Technician II- Grant/ Research Section
This position is open to internal BCI employees
This researcher position will provide service to the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) by researching, obtaining, and updating criminal history data. Projects assigned will include querying informational databases, prosecutors, courts, local law enforcement, and the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) for the most accurate and up to date criminal record information.
Principal Duties- Partner with Criminal Justice entities to gather information
- Maintain and update criminal history records
- Data-collection and facilitating data requests
- Research, analyze, interpret, and present data
Preference may be given to candidates who:
- Have related criminal history research experience
- Have effective communication skills
- Have experience with UCJIS, Xchange, and Utah Criminal History (UCH)
- Must be a current BCI employee
Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
Candidates who have been selected for an interview must pass a skills assessment as part of the interview process.
May be required to drive a State vehicle for work purposes.
