Manager, Protective Services
The Manager, Protective Services is authorized to direct security operations, implement emergency protective actions, coordinate with first responders, and make immediate operational decisions necessary to protect life, property, and business operations in accordance with ACS policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing all contract security personnel, supervisors, and vendors.
- Overseeing access control, badging, visitor management, CCTV, alarms, and related technologies.
- Coordinating emergency response operations and serving as incident commander until relieved.
- Supporting executive protection activities, board meetings, and high-profile events.
- Conducting investigations and coordinating with HR, Legal, and law enforcement.
- Maintaining post orders, SOPs, and emergency action procedures.
- Managing protective services budgets, invoices, and vendor performance metrics.
- Supporting business continuity, crisis management, and resilience exercises.
- Developing training programs and ensuring annual compliance requirements are met.
- Participating in an on-call rotation and responding to critical incidents outside normal business hours.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement or emergency management.
- Minimum three years of leadership experience.
- Experience managing contract guard forces and security vendors.
- Experience with access control, visitor management, and security technologies.
- Strong understanding of incident command and emergency management principles.
Preferred certifications include:
- CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
- PSP (Physical Security Professional)
This role is based in our Washington, DC office. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $90,000 – $110,000 per year. ACS employees work a hybrid schedule, consisting of working onsite two days per work week, as decided by functional area. The balance of the week is open to working remotely, though employees are always welcome onsite each day if they choose.
