What Your Job Will Be Like:
Join our Operations Security (OPSEC) Team as an Information Security Specialist and play a key role in protecting Sandia
¿ s critical information assets. In this dynamic position, you will collaborate with Safeguards and Security programs and mission teams to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and implement effective OPSEC measures. Your day-to-day work will include developing and maintaining critical information lists, conducting OPSEC reviews and assessments, presenting briefings to stakeholders, and leading efforts to mitigate risks by applying OPSEC best practices.
Your expertise will help safeguard sensitive information, support decision-makers, and strengthen our overall security posture across the laboratory.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:
Partner with Safeguards and Security programs and/or mission programs to develop, update, and maintain critical information lists.
Present OPSEC briefings and assessment results to various organizations, decision makers, and stakeholders across Sandia regarding critical information, vulnerabilities, risks, threats, and how to mitigate risk by implementing OPSEC measures.
Conduct OPSEC reviews and/or assessments of Sandia, programs, information, and remote sites.
Develop OPSEC measures to prevent release of critical information outside of the virtual and physical security boundary and/or mitigate identified vulnerabilities and risks.
Lead/facilitate and/or actively advise members of the workforce regarding OPSEC requirements, threats, vulnerabilities, OPSEC Measures etc.
Develop, update and/or maintain program training, controlled documents and policy.
Salary Range:
$74,700 - $144,400
* Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor
¿ s degree in Business, Security, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Psychology,; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Active Q security clearance or equivalent required to start.
Qualifications We Desire:
Bachelor
¿ s degree in a security-related field (graduate degree preferred).
Experience or coursework in developing training materials, implementing security requirements, and leading and assisting with assessments.
Experience performing practical open-source research and analysis with both large data sets and/or specified data sets.
Familiarity with OPSEC, physical and digital security, risk analysis, and program improvements.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, apply critical thinking, and interpret DOE orders with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; self-motivated and collaborative.
Exposure to DOE/Sandia programs and assessment processes is a plus.
