Field Supervisor; Welder​/Millwright

At Joelle's Technical Resources & Custom Works Inc., we pride ourselves on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality industrial services to our clients in the mining industry. We are CWB-certified and operate with a team of 38 dedicated professionals, providing field labour, millwrighting, welding, and confined-space work to various mines. As we expand, we are looking for a skilled Field Supervisor to join our team and lead on-site operations in the Timmins region and beyond.

Role Summary

As the Field Supervisor, you will supervise and coordinate field operations, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, lead and mentor the field crew, and communicate between site and office management. You will ensure jobs are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standard of safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of work.
• Supervise and mentor field staff (millwrights, welders, labourers), promote high performance and teamwork.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, confined-space protocols, and CWB certification standards.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and safety checks; address issues and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with office/project management: report on project status, crew performance, safety incidents, and budget variances.
• Manage costs and resources on site: monitor budget, prevent cost overruns, and maintain equipment and tools.
• Promote continuous improvement: identify bottlenecks, propose operational enhancements, support crew training and development.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum secondary school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary or trade certificate in relevant field is an asset.
• Proven experience (3-5 years) in a field supervisory role in a heavy industrial, mining, or services environment.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills: ability to motivate, influence, resolve conflicts, and build a positive site culture.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to engage with crews, clients, office, and management.
• Solid planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities; comfortable working on multiple sites or assignments.
• Sound understanding of safety regulations, confined-space work, welding/millwrighting operations.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including potentially overtime, shift work, or remote job-site stays.
• Valid driver’s licence; reliable transportation; the ability to work in varied/harsh environmental and weather conditions.
