Role Description

The Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrical Bias) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cardiff. The engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, HVAC equipment, and associated building services across client sites. Daily tasks include fault finding, repairs, minor installations, safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The role involves working from job tickets, completing accurate documentation, liaising with clients and colleagues, and prioritizing work to meet service-level agreements.

The engineer will also support continuous improvement of building performance, contribute to energy efficiency initiatives, and participate in occasional out-of-hours or on-call duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and practical experience working on building services and maintenance.
  • Applied knowledge of Electricity safety principles and relevant regulations for commercial and public buildings.
  • Experience with Power Distribution systems, including maintenance of panels, breakers, and associated infrastructure.
  • Understanding of Power Systems operation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in building environments.
  • Ability to apply Electrical Design concepts for minor modifications, upgrades, and small installation projects.
  • Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and relevant certification such as 18th Edition or similar.
  • Experience in facilities management, HVAC and mechanical systems support, and multi-skilled maintenance work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and clear, professional communication with clients.
  • Comfort with using digital work order systems and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between local sites as required.
