About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Social Worker to join one of our teams (Access Information and Mental Health & Learning Disability). A social worker with a BIA or AMPH is desirable but is not a minimum requirement to apply for this role. EDT work experience is good to have but not required as a criterion when applying.

Job Location:

Brent Civic Centre which is 5-7 minutes’ walk from Wembley Park Tube Station.

About you

You are an experienced Social Worker who has expertise in carrying out needs led assessments for adults within the guidelines of Care Act, to manage cases including Safeguarding Adults and Deprivation of Liberty. Co-ordinating and reviewing multi-service care packages and to support the service in meeting individual/service performance targets and actively contribute to its continuous improvement.

AMHP specific role

To provide the AMHP function for the team and be part of an AMHP duty rota across all services.

To work as part of our AMHP team focusing on delivering duties as described in section 13 Mental Health Act

BIA Specific role

To act as the Best Interest Assessor as defined in the Capacity Act 2014, specifically under the deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

EDT Specific Role.

To Safeguard all brent residents through appropriate use of MHA as an AMHP, and safeguard children & young people through appropriate use of the Childrens Act 2024. Offering a borough wide service outside of usual office hours.

What are we looking for?

Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, particularly those within the criminal justice system

Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds

IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.

Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders.

What would we like, but not essential?

A social worker with a BIA or AMPH is desirable, but it is not a minimum requirement to apply for this role. EDT work experience is good to have but not required as a criterion when applying.
