STATEMENT OF DUTIESSummary of Job Classification:
Performs entry/developing-level Probation Officer responsibilities, including investigation, assessment, supervision, resource coordination, and monitoring of clients’ court-ordered for services. Completes required training courses and programs.
This is an after-hours, on-call contract position that covers strictly evenings and weekends. Compensation consists of standby pay at $2.00 per hour, with additional pay only for active responses as determined upon hire. Applicants must live within one hour of our office and be able to report in person if needed. This position is not benefits-eligible.
This contract position provides on-call support for the CYDC Program, working with pre-adjudicated juveniles. Following the completion of initial training, the position will transition to remote work. The employee will receive standby pay and be equipped with a cell phone and computer to perform assigned duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answer and respond to incoming calls after regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all phone communications on behalf of the CYDC Coordinator.
- Remain available by carrying the provided phone at all times while on-call; no in-office presence is required.
- Conduct after-hours curfew checks a minimum of once per week.
- Collaborate with detention centers, law enforcement, and other community partners and stakeholders as needed.

Conditions:
This is a remote position after initial training; however, the employee must be able to report to the office within one hour if required. The employee may manage their own schedule and location while on-call, provided they remain accessible for incoming calls or necessary communications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform assigned essential functions listed below satisfactorily. - Performs case management duties including documenting client related activities, reviewing client documents and court orders, and managing the client’s e-file.
- Conducts face-to-face appointments and interviews. Conducts ongoing assessments to determine treatment needs and risk to the community. Develops appropriate case plans to guide supervision and ensure compliance with conditions imposed by the court.
- Assesses, prioritizes and responds to critical incidents and potential risks in the field and office. De-escalates hostile/agitated clients and potentially violent situations.
- Completes a variety of reports to assess criminal behavior. Provides relevant information and sentencing options to court.
- Submits comprehensive compliance reports to the Court including revocation documents, taking care to protect confidential information. Updates the Court as needed and provides professional testimony.
- Informs staff, stakeholders, and public on Victim Rights Amendment. Responds to community feedback regarding clients and probationers in the community. Collects victim statements/positions for various court proceedings.
- Collaborates with other judicial districts and states on victim related concerns.
- Attends meetings and completes training as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
