OverviewThis position is a home-based position that involves field work in the relevant Vermont counties. The primary areas of coverage include Bennington and Windham counties with some work in Rutland and Windsor or other counties if necessary. The Service Navigators role is to take a victim centered approach to allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation to enhance the quality of life for the vulnerable adult while reducing the risk of future harm.
The successful candidate will need to develop relationships with community partners, have knowledge of what resources are available in the counties that they cover, as well as engage family members and potential perpetrators to ensure that the vulnerable is safe and has the resources they need.

Interim Adult Protective Services Service Navigator - Limited Service (Job Requisition #54154), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Duties are performed in a variety of settings, but primarily in the field, including individuals' homes and residential care settings. Considerable field travel is required for which private means of transportation must be available. An incumbent will encounter high level stress and emotional situations, strong differences of opinion, and potentially threatening situations.
Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in social work, gerontology/aging, disabilities, psychology, or closely related field AND one (1) year or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
OR
Bachelor's degree AND three (3) years or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
OR
Associate's degree AND five (5) years or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent AND seven (7) year or more of experience at a professional level in social work or psychology with a focus on aging and/or disability services, restorative justice, a health care related field, or similar professional role that included significant case management responsibilities.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in case management and service delivery with knowledge of restorative justice principles.
Special RequirementsCandidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
