Overview

Responsibilities- Investigate reports of mistreatment and abuse of children and provide for the safety of those children.
- Complete data entry to maintain case documentation for case records.
- Provide crisis intervention where appropriate, assuming on-call duties and responsibilities on a rotational basis.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Completion of training and Caseworker Certification is required to be completed after employment begins.
- Full-time temporary with the potential to become full-time permanent.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch.
- Overtime, after-hours work, and on-call are mandatory.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 1 day a week after approval of supervisor and must hold regular status as Caseworker 1. You must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
- Salary:
Annual salary starts at $46,878 plus overtime and on-call pay. After the completion of eighteen (18) months, the employee will earn County Caseworker 2 certification with an annual salary of $52,202.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- A bachelor’s degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- This position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
