Description:

Salary is Non-Negotiable. The successful candidate will be hired at the minimum salary. The position is currently funded until September 29, 2029. Funding for this position beyond September 29, 2029 is subject to approval.

The Drug Court Liaison is responsible for working with everyday court room procedures. The Liaison is responsible for reading provider progress reports to the Judge, regarding the adherence of participants in substance abuse treatment. The position is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the placement of participants in outpatient treatment, as well as residential services and its accompanying wait list. The Court Liaison will prepare daily reports and collect Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous (NA/AA) attendance sheets during the court hearings.

This person maintains open communication lines with the Drug Court Coordinator, Miami-Dade County Drug Court Judge, case managers, related staff, community programs, state programs, State Attorney's Office, Public Defender's Office, Department of Corrections, medical practitioners, volunteers, attending clinicians, participants and their families.

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work/onsite schedule as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates the tracking of referrals for participants to outpatient/residential services and its accompanying wait list.
  • Generates and tracks all referrals to intake department.
  • Files referrals, releases and updates manuals on Microsoft Teams.
  • Obtains order for alcohol monitors, refers participants to agency and provides supervisor with updated information.
  • Appears at court hearings, to inform and provide the court with updated and accurate information regarding the progress of participants.
  • Prepares for court hearings by verifying that all required progress notes are entered in the case management web-based system.
  • Consults with other staff members regarding the ongoing adjustment and general care of each participant.
  • Attends weekly pre-court team meetings.
  • Maintains contact with service providers of each participant.
  • Utilizes community resources appropriately for participants or respective families including vocational counseling, public assistance, high school equivalency course, literacy classes, parenting classes, etc.
  • Obtains releases for all parties to be contacted on behalf of each participant.
  • Accurately records pertinent data in the web-based case management system.
  • Performs monthly audit of Microsoft Teams data.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with service providers.
  • Reports to work alert and appropriately dressed during entire tour of duty and maintains personal cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Conducts work in a professional manner with all participants, employees and visitors.
  • Refrains from abusive, immoral or other unacceptable conduct, behavior or language.
  • Communicates and problem solves via the chain of command.
  • Seeks corrective criticism and evaluates suggestions objectively.
  • Reports to work as assigned and follows policies within the workplace.
  • Maintains acceptable overall attendance.
  • Promotes a favorable/positive work atmosphere.
  • Attends in-services and educational trainings as assigned.

  • Maintains a safe and professional work environment in compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • May have potential exposure to airborne or blood-borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.
  • Reports incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling.
  • Post high school addiction- specific training leading to certification by the Florida Certification Board.
  • One (1) year of experience in case management, crisis intervention, clinical intake, record keeping and business management procedures, in court calendaring and case coordination work involving familiarity with the laws, procedures and operations of the courts.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole preferred.
