Respite Provider (Part‑time)
LSI currently seeks part‑time Respite Providers to offer care services in the Waterloo & surrounding Cedar Valley area (Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Flyod, Grundy, and/or Tama counties). The purpose of respite care is to give the parent or primary caregiver a break from the daily responsibilities of caring for a child or adult with a disability.
Hours may flex in accordance to the family’s needs; some evenings or weekend hours may be requested. The position also has the potential to work from home after a probationary period.
Flexible hours! You set your own schedule working directly with families and can work from home after initial training. Availability is required for some evenings, weekends, and hours requested by families. This role is ideal for college students or anyone looking to gain experience or earn supplemental income. Computer skills and access to a computer or laptop for documentation are required.
Consistent communication is essential.
Provide a break for the parent or guardian of an individual with a disability. Offer respite for a few hours in the evening or up to a full weekend. Schedule will depend on the family’s needs and your availability. Communicate effectively with families regardless of their communication abilities. Support families in maintaining a 24/7 care environment.
QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED required. Preferred experience working with people with disabilities. Basic computer skills essential for timekeeping and documentation.

This position requires a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and a criminal history check.
