Major Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide accurate, impartial, and confidential interpretation to LEP individuals and service providers in a variety of settings, including clinics, hospitals, schools, community-based organizations, and government agencies. Services may be rendered in person, via telephone, video conference, or other virtual means.
- Track assignments and work hours within designated software.
- Participate in training and assessments.
- May support special projects and initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma is strongly preferred.
- Interpretation certification preferred.
Position
Reports to:
Interpreter Coordinator
- Relevant professional interpretation experience is preferred.
- Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
- Cultural sensitivity; ability to build trust with clients, colleagues, and partners.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Spoken proficiency in Arabic is required.
- Knowledge of the following dialects including but not limited to the following dialects:
Levantine, Maghrebi, Egyptian, and Sudanese is preferred. - Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Reliable transportation to appointment locations.
- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
- May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Pay Range: $20 - 20. Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
