Job Summary:
The Research Support Assistant is responsible for assisting with the BRIDGE research project conducted by the Institute of Behavioral Research. This is a temporary, part‑time position (10‑20 hours/week). Successful applicants must reside in or near the following Illinois communities (St. Clair, Sangamon, Kane), as the position requires local, in‑person data collection and community engagement activities.
Duties &Essential Job Functions:
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 1 year or more of experience with customers, patients, or clients.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
Licensure/Certification /Specialized Training:
- None.
- None.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Ability to use strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially for conducting interviews and engaging with community members.
- Ability to demonstrate strong organization and administrative skills that will permit effective and efficient work in an office setting.
- Ability to work independently in community settings while maintaining communication with a remote research team.
- Ability to follow structured research protocols and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑site research team.
- Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials and information.
- Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
- Hearing ability for verbal communication, conversation, responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face‑to‑face interactions.
- Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, lifting/moving items up to 10 lbs. and times of prolonged sitting.
- Combination of field‑based (community) and remote/office work.
- Regular travel within the local community required.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends for community events. There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
- The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
