Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist

The D&A Case Management Specialist provides comprehensive screening and assessment, level‑of‑care determinations, and resource coordination for those in need of services.

- Initial screening: conduct an initial review of referred individuals to assess the need for immediate care.
- Eligibility review: determine and verify eligibility for public funding and identify needed services.
- Assessment work: perform a level‑of‑care assessment to understand treatment needs.
- Documentation tasks: complete required documentation according to state and county policies.
- Service linkage: facilitate connections to treatment providers and related services.
- Progress monitoring: maintain contact with individuals and providers to track treatment needs and service delivery.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours:
8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch break. - Hours may vary outside of the standard schedule as needed to be available to referring entities.
- Telework: may have the opportunity to work from home part‑time; after a successful probationary period and attainment of regular status, up to two remote work days may be possible when unit demands allow. Telework requires a securely configured high‑speed Internet connection and an approved work location within Pennsylvania.
- Salary: in some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- One year as a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist trainee; or
- A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing, or a related field plus one year of direct service experience performing counseling or case management in an alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
- A bachelor's degree supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice, or related social sciences plus one year of direct service experience performing counseling or case management in an alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under that law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including Pennsylvania State Police clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
