Overview

This is a professional position that serves as the initial contact for all referrals for new foster care placement in accordance with contract compliance and/or acts as a liaison between foster care staff and foster parents by recruiting, certifying, and training foster parents.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or other related field as required by the State's licensing guidelines.
  • Experience in a child placing agency preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Satisfactory completion of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, license and retain foster parents while maintaining cases in various counties with the Ennis Center service area.
  • Recruit, accept referrals for and prescreen applicants to determine eligibility as foster parents for provision of service under all agency contracts (respite, foster care, etc.).
  • Research, plan and implement monthly recruitment events (number to be determined by the Director based on caseload size).
  • Travel throughout various counties across agency service area to assist with licensing responsibilities across all agency offices as needed, including carrying caseloads outside of the employee's designated home office.
  • Provide 24‑hour crisis on‑call availability to clients and families on a rotating basis.
  • Maintain state compliance of existing foster homes and ensure completion of all required documentation for initial licensing and/or licensing renewal.
  • Accurately, professionally and timely complete and distribute all required reports, filings, and statistical information.
  • Identify appropriate foster homes for placements, ensuring compatibility of youth and foster home for licensing compliance.
  • Participate in agency‑wide search for emergency placements, utilizing agency‑wide text and email distribution lists and coordinating with other Ennis Center offices.
  • Ensure foster home compliance.
  • Investigate complaints against foster families; ensure complete, accurate and timely processing.
  • Attend court hearings when required.
  • Facilitate ongoing training on policy and procedure as outlined by MDHHS for staff, foster parents, and others as deemed necessary.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
