The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Division for Children, Youth, and Families has a full-time vacancy for Juvenile Probation and Parole Officer III-IV.

Summary:

JPPO III

To serve as officers of the court regarding juveniles receiving services through DCYF-Juvenile Justice Services, or those placed on conditional release or parole. Responsibilities include investigating and reporting recommendations to the court, as required. Serves as a regional JPPO who has specific duties to include responsibilities regarding transitional and adult living services for older youth who are Delinquent or CHINS through Juvenile Justice Services.

Upholds the vision and mission of the agency through utilizing the Practice Model theories, beliefs and principles in daily practice.

JPPO IV

To serve as officers of the court regarding juveniles receiving services through DCYF-Juvenile Justice Services, or those placed on conditional release or parole. To provide leadership in the juvenile probation and parole program and to directly supervise staff as assigned. Upholds the vision and mission of the agency through utilizing the Practice Model theories, beliefs and principles in daily practice.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

JPPO III:

Education/

Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 1.5 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 5.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in criminal justice, criminology, behavioral science, counseling, cultural anthropology, education, human services, psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field with at least 3 years working with adults and/or juveniles in the criminal justice or social work field.

License/Certification:
Valid driver's license and access to transportation

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel to District Offices and/or other work locations up to 50 miles away from the assigned work location for temporary assignment or reassignment to ensure continuity of service to clients
  • May be transferred to an assessment unit within the State to support the Division's implementation and sustainability of Juvenile Justice Transformation legislation
  • Must be able to tele-work from home or other sites, as assigned
  • Must be able to work overtime or non-traditional hours as assigned to meet the needs of youth and families
