The Resident Advisor (RA) staff provides immediate resident support to those served in the Community Shelter. The RA works closely with all shelter staff to meet residents' needs and promote safety, healing, and empowerment. The RA assists in creating a welcoming, inclusive, client‑focused environment.

Part‑Time Position Details

One (1) person for a part‑time, non‑exempt basis. Hourly salary $21.20 (dependent on experience).

Location:

Community Shelter Campus in Pecan Springs‑Springdale. No travel or remote work. Shift: Saturday and Sunday, 8 am to 4 pm. Specify part‑time shift in cover letter.

Full‑Time Position Details

One (1) person for a full‑time, non‑exempt basis. Hourly salary $21.20 (dependent on experience).

Location:

Community Shelter Campus in Pecan Springs‑Springdale. No travel or remote work. Shift: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. Specify full‑time shift in cover letter.

Essential Staff Position

This is an essential staff position. Essential staff must report to work during inclement weather, possibly staying beyond their scheduled shift or arriving earlier or delayed until conditions permit safety.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field required.
  • Equivalent years of professional‑level relevant experience accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • One to two years of crisis intervention experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking, child abuse, and homelessness preferred.
  • Experience providing direct service advocacy or case management services.
  • Ability to work in a high‑stress, fast‑paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate phones, computers, and office equipment.
  • Visual acuity capable of drafting, editing, and reviewing materials in standard typeface size 10 or above.
  • Capability to sit and stand for extended periods; can intermittently push, pull, or lift 20+ lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to adverse conditions, hazardous environments, loud noise, traffic, and inclement weather possible.
  • Completion of the 40‑Hour Office of Attorney General Sexual Assault Advocacy Training Program within six months of employment, plus ongoing annual continuing education.
  • Pass all required criminal history background checks, pre‑employment drug screen and TB test (if applicable).
  • Compliance with COVID‑19 policies; vaccinations recommended.
