Job Assignment / PurposeAssist in providing a safe environment for transport of patients and related duties to support clinical staff, safety, and facility operations.
Job Duties- Transport patients and escort them to designated activities or appointments.
- Evaluate and monitor visits, perform searches as required by hospital policy.
- Communicate with nursing and clinical staff to schedule on‑site and off‑site transports.
- Respond to crisis situations using approved verbal de‑escalation, physical intervention, and related techniques.
- After transports, conduct patient searches and perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- College education in behavioral health, justice, or a related field.
- Experience working with adjudicated or detained individuals in secure or behavioral health settings.
- Experience facilitating psycho educational groups and working with adolescents who have experienced trauma.
- Experience in verbal de‑escalation and motivational techniques.
- Skilled verbal de‑escalation.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and dependability.
- Sound judgment and decision‑making ability.
- Self‑control and composure in stressful situations.
- Clear and respectful verbal communication within a team.
- Ability to identify and act on changes, hazards, or potential security breaches.
- Accurate written reporting of information and events.
Shift work, varying shifts at a 24/7 facility, days, evenings, and weekends.
Conditions of EmploymentEligibility requirements and conditions for employment include:
• Background check covering criminal history; felony convictions or related misdemeanors may disqualify.
• Current and valid unrestricted Colorado driver’s license for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border.
• State of Colorado residency at the time of application and throughout employment.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Physical ability to meet orientation modules (CPR, lifting, mobility, and restraint skills).
• TB test required.
• Must not initiate or engage in prohibited relationships with patients.
