Responsibilities- Perform technical assignments and monitor, initiate, and implement procedures necessary to conduct child support centralized functions related to enforcement, system maintenance, and customer service.
- Troubleshoot and resolve case- or system-related issues, and handle projects involving the centralized process.
- Gather data and conduct statistical compilations as required.
- Serve as the first level of contact for DHHS staff, OCS Child Support Specialists, Prosecuting Attorney staff (PA), Friend of the Court staff (FOC), and child support case members, providing technical assistance in resolving centralized enforcement or customer service issues.
- Perform liaison activities with FOC staff, OCS staff, and other partners and stakeholders to assist with customer service, system maintenance, or enforcement issues.
- One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7‑level in state service, or one year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
- For Departmental Technician 8 level: one year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8‑level in state service, or one year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level.
- For Departmental Technician E9 level: one year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9‑level in state service, or two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.
- Education:
completion of high school. Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may substitute for experience. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and one year of job‑related experience may substitute for the experience requirement. - Attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This position is located at the Romney Building, 111 S. Capitol Ave., 12th Floor, Lansing, MI. Occasional travel to this office may be required. Based on operational needs, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests may be considered, provided the employee works within Michigan.
