Client Advocate Hours
Full-time salaried position with occasional evening or weekend hours. Office hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Employees have the option to work from home on Fridays, provided responsibilities are met; in‑office attendance may be required when necessary.
LocationOffice is located at 103 3rd Avenue East, Shakopee, MN. SVA serves victim/survivors for all of Scott and Carver County, occasional travel may be required.

Job SummaryThe Client Advocate provides direct service to victims of domestic violence, manages SVA’s victim‑related programs, including the 24/7 Crisis Line, and supervises Crisis Line volunteer Advocates.
Core Job Functions- Provide victim/survivors with advocacy services both over the phone and in‑person, including safety planning, crisis intervention, resources, and support.
- Respond to victim/survivors during normal work hours and as necessary to guarantee no lapse in coverage.
- Conduct safety planning, assessment of immediate needs, and assist domestic violence victims with determining next steps to ensure safety following an incident.
- Manage 24‑hour Crisis Line schedule and coverage, through a combination of volunteers and dedicated paid crisis line advocates.
- Supervise Crisis Line volunteers and paid weekend advocates.
- Onboard and train Crisis Line advocates.
- Coordinate online and in‑person support groups.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data entry into client database and necessary paperwork, including case noting, documentation of services, and referrals provided.
- Co‑manage and support client special events and programs.
- Multilingual applicants preferred.
- Direct advocacy experience in domestic violence or related fields preferred.
- Experience managing programs and volunteers in a non‑profit setting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice, or related field preferred OR equivalent and relevant experience.
- Must pass a pre‑employment background check.
Full Time/Exempt
Hiring Salary$50,00-$55,000 dependent on experience and qualifications.
