Public diplomacy is at the core of the J‑1 Visa exchange program. Our students learn about American culture, customs and ideals while living with American host families and attending high school. Host families in return learn about the customs, culture and ideals of the students they host. FIEA partners with overseas agents that carefully screen and select students with the appropriate age, background, English language skills and attitude for participating in the international exchange program.
American host families are screened through a criminal background check, home inspection and host family interview.
Work with foreign exchange students in your community. As a Local Representative, you will recruit volunteer host families, serve as the liaison with local high schools, and provide support for the exchange students. All of our Representatives receive excellent training and support from their Area Directors and the Home Office. We work with over 20 different countries; every student speaks English, is fully medically insured, and brings their own money for personal expenses.
Work on a flexible basis from home, earn travel incentives and other bonuses. Each complete placement is paid a highly competitive fee to the Local Representative, with monthly supplemental income for supervision throughout the school year.
QualificationsAffinity for teens, international interest, marketing abilities, excellent communication skills, and detail‑oriented. Affiliations with local schools, media, volunteer organizations, etc. are highly desirable.
