Youth Care Professional

Are you looking for a meaningful way to impact lives in a new, cutting edge program? Nexus Glen Lake, an intensive residential treatment program for adolescent females, is looking for motivated Youth Care Professionals to support and reinforce the therapeutic treatment plan of clients by providing guidance, assistance, and direction to clients in their daily living activities. The schedule typically includes Saturday and/or Sunday shifts.

As a Youth Care Professional, you will play a key role in the growth and success of our clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing mentorship and supervision of client daily activities and behavior;
  • Participating with coworkers as a team on implementing treatment plans and therapeutic services;
  • Ensuring client safety and collaborating with coworkers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic;
  • Planning and participating in off-campus client activities and assisting in the transportation of clients for home visits, doctor appointment, planned recreational activities, etc.; and
  • Working effectively with clients' families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a spirit of cooperation, a desire to model and reinforce fundamentals of positive youth development, an ability to protect clients' confidentiality, and flexibility with shift scheduling and rotation needs. Training is provided!

Nexus Glen Lake is an intensive residential program for adolescent females, ages 14-19. The goal of the program is to stabilize young women and prepare them for successful reintegration into the community through experiential activity, skill-building, community connection, and independent life experiences.

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Valid Driver's License. Must meet state regulating agency and Corporate driving requirements.
  • Ability to: assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients, lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours), and twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to performing daily activities in a residential treatment facility.
