Healthy Families America Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:

Healthy Families America is a voluntary home-based program whose staff receives extensive training in family assessment and home visitation. Staff will provide curriculum-based visits using the Growing Great Kids Curriculum over a long term to promote parent child relationships and health childhood growth and development. Services are typically initiated prenatally or at birth.

The Supervisor for Healthy Families America is responsible for acting as a team leader and support for the program and program manager. The Supervisor for Healthy Families America will provide home-based delivery services and possess/provide knowledge of Maternal and Child learning. The Supervisor provides daily support and crisis management to direct service staff. This role may include delivery of components of service, family support and family assessment in addition to oversight of direct service staff, data entry, reporting, record compliance and referral and family contact.

WORK SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
  • Monday
    - Friday, due to the nature of the work and level of responsibility, this individual maintains a flexible schedule, which may go beyond a regular workweek.
  • In-person, hybrid, home-based position.
  • May be required to work at any CCAP location (Cranston, Coventry office).

REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Family Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • Master's Degree in Family Counseling, Social Work. Psychology/Sociology, preferred.
  • Experience with home-based delivery of services and knowledge of Maternal and Child Learning.
  • Knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment (Infant mental health endorsement and reflective practice is preferred)
  • 1-year relevant supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, write reports, correspondence, and create meeting agendas
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations
  • Complete all required background checks

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must attend all HFA trainings in the GGK curriculum including but not limited to, Parent Survey training, FROG training, RIDOH MIECHV (Maternal, Infant and Early Child Home Visiting), supervisor trainings, and other required trainings.
  • Attend training for Reflective Supervision and provide regular supervision to direct service staff on a weekly basis
  • Attend regular Supervisory meetings with MIECHV, Department of Health team and LIT meetings.
  • Supervisor must be well versed in utilization of the curriculum to support staff to support families
  • Monitor staff progress, goals, trainings and areas of need and document such in supervision notes
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals seeking services at CCAP, and the general public
  • Must be well versed in utilization and assessment tools to identify and address substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, etc. and refer to appropriate community resources to supervise staff efficiently.
  • Assist staff in supporting families to become empowered to meet their goals.
  • Supervisor must maintain expertise in providing home-based services and in completing assessment procedures utilized.
  • Maintain/gain knowledge of infant and child development and parent-child attachment
  • Maintain/gain knowledge of parent-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect
  • Willingness to engage in building reflective practice (e.g., capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc.)
  • Assist staff to complete home visit documentation, assessments and screenings in accordance with HFA required time frames.
  • Participate in QI initiatives, monitor and maintain data collection system and entry.
  • Assist in selection of staff, training and orientation, shadow home visits and monitor staff performance.
