This individual serves as the primary liaison with the Division of Social Services, coordinating outreach, distributing materials, understanding the scope of services and programs, coordinating through local DSS offices, and serving as a primary contact to triage and elevate member‑specific or BH I/DD Tailored Plan questions.
Position Type: Full‑time, remote. Selected candidate must reside in North Carolina. Some travel for onsite meetings to the Home office may be required.
Responsibilities and DutiesAssist Members with gaining access to services.
- Work with the Division of Social Services in the Alliance catchment area to provide education, coordination, triage/escalation support, and technical assistance.
- Collaborate with the member’s assigned Care Manager to assist with coordination across identified member supports, providers, and community service agencies.
- Address barriers to accessing resources, services and programs.
- Participate in treatment team meetings as needed with the member’s Care Team.
- Provide recommendations to improve access to services and the coordination of care between Alliance and DSS.
- Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with DSS representatives to review members who require a mental health residential placement/service, identify placement/service needs, and address barriers to placement/services.
- Work collaboratively with Provider Networks, the Care Manager, and other Alliance support staff to identify vacancies and establish single‑case agreements with out‑of‑network providers when necessary.
- Travel between Alliance offices, attend meetings on behalf of Alliance, participate in Alliance‑sponsored events as required.
- Travel to meet with members, providers, stakeholders, and attend court hearings as required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services field and two (2) years of post‑bachelor’s experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Non‑Human Services field and four (4) years of post‑bachelor’s experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served.

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a Human Services field and one (1) year of postgraduate experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served.

Fully or provisionally licensed in the State of North Carolina as a LCSW, LCMHC, LPA, or LMFT.

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with four (4) years of MH/DD/SA experience with the population served.
PreferredKnowledge and experience collaborating with county departments of social services, department of juvenile justice, crisis response, and community‑based treatment providers, including training highly preferred. NACCM, NADD‑Specialist, and/or CBIS Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of System of Care Principles.
- Knowledge of Managed Care Principles.
- Knowledge of Medicaid basic, enhanced MHSUD, and waiver benefits plans.

Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background and MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee’s start date.
Salary Range$28.96 – $37.65/Hourly.
Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
