Responsibilities
- Support legislative bill requirements by authoring, maintaining, and presenting monthly aggregated reports of youth in detention and emergency bed usage (HB 25‑1146). Hold primary oversight of public reporting.
- Create and maintain a central, easy‑to‑use system to store documentation and resources, ensuring timely updates and stakeholder accessibility.
- Influence policy and statutory modifications by collaborating with analysts, the Limit the Detention of Juveniles report group, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the Juvenile Placement and Cost Survey, including contract and budget management; analyze subpopulations and recommend improvements.
- Collect, clean, and analyze data for mandated reports; coordinate emergency bed data collection and maintain the Detention Bed Utilization Tracking Sheet (DBUTS); establish protocols for system access and audit credentials.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of the position.
- Seven (7) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to this position.
- Or a combination of related education and/or experience equaling seven (7) years.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience creating legislative reports.
- Juvenile justice experience.
- Child welfare experience.
- Experience with public speaking/presenting.
- Demonstrated ability to engage multiple stakeholders.
- Some travel to meetings and training may be required.
- Standard background screening for all CDHS employees (CBI name check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, reference checks, professional license verification, and drug screen).
