Position: New Parent Support Home Visitor, LCSW/LMFT license can be from any state, RN/BSN

Job Summary

Provide support to all eligible families with expectant parents and parents of children from birth to 3 years of age. The program seeks to support young military families to contribute to mission readiness, aid adaptation to military life, and promote healthy relationships to prevent family violence. Services include information and referrals, parenting programs, respite care, supervised playtime, and more intensive support for families assessed as at risk for child maltreatment or family violence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide effective, timely and confidential services for families at risk for child maltreatment or family violence.
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of client information.
  • Identify and report suspected child abuse, neglect, and domestic abuse.
  • Assess developmental milestones and referral procedures for indicators of special needs or developmental delays.
  • Assess and strengthen adaptation to parenthood.
  • Assess and strengthen parental capacity for problem‑solving, building trusting relationships, and seeking help.
  • Promote developmentally appropriate parenting skills, disciplinary techniques, and parent‑child communication skills.
  • Facilitate informal and formal community networks to build positive relationships and reduce social isolation.
  • Develop relationships with local community and military installation officials and organizations to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Utilize community‑based services and networks to provide concrete support for families who may be in crisis.
  • Screen, assess, and address protective and risk factors using a strengths‑based, family‑centered developmental approach.
  • Maintain a tracking system with up‑to‑date case status.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls and annual training events.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years of direct work experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, or maternal or child health or medical social work.
  • Hold a current and active license as an LCSW, LMFT, or RN.
  • For LCSW: valid unrestricted clinical license and a master’s degree in Social Work.
  • For RN: at least a bachelor’s degree in nursing, current unrestricted license in a state or territory, and at least two (2) years of direct experience with child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal/child health, public/community health, or mental health; home visitation experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; ability to use general office equipment.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to work under time pressure, meet deadlines, and travel as needed in accordance with AFSC travel policies.
  • Ability to enter private homes without easy access and transport oneself to private homes and training sites.
Salary and Benefits

Salary Minimum: $58,440. Salary Maximum: $93,500. Position may be eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package that may include health, life, voluntary and other benefits.
