Job SummaryThe Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the day‑to‑day functions of the Enhanced Family Foster Care case planning unit. This role provides social work guidance, coordinates and supervises a Parent Advocate and a team of Case Planners, and works from a team‑oriented approach to ensure delivery of high‑quality, responsive services to families.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides weekly supervision to a core team of four Case Planners and one Parent Advocate.
- Facilitates goal‑oriented Family Case Plans, ensuring input from all family members and assigned staff.
- Collaborates with supporting departments to match services to families’ immediate needs.
- Manages staff work hours and schedules, ensuring PTO and remote work coverage.
- Reviews family permanency plans with a focus on safe, timely reunifications.
- Intervenes directly on high‑risk cases or concerns.
- Provides case coverage in the absence of staff.
- Participates in monthly QA/QI meetings, safety reviews, permanency reviews, and other case‑planning focused meetings.
- Ensures timely entry and quality of all team case notes.
- Ensures timely completion and quality of reports (FASPs, permanency hearing reports, court reports).
- Prepares staff for family court proceedings, family team conferences, and other externally driven meetings.
- Schedules and holds Family Team, Placement Preservation, Goal Change, Reunification, and Parent‑to‑Parent conferences.
- Conducts timely staff evaluations focused on continual development.
- Microsoft 365 proficiency and knowledge of Connections.
- Strong team‑player with planning, organizational, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to manage and supervise all staff.
- Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- MSW or related degree with prior supervisory experience in child welfare required; LMSW preferred.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Work hours may vary based on program needs.
- Ability to travel between Staten Island and Brooklyn sites.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
