About the Position

This hybrid position serves individuals throughout Dane County with flexibility to work from home. Travel throughout Dane County may be required to work directly with participants. Travel to ERI's main office in Madison may be required on occasion. However, we understand the importance of flexibility and work‑life balance. ERI provides all necessary equipment including computer, printer and telephone equipment and other essential work tools.

As our new Community Benefits Specialist, you will:

  • Assist individuals with completing applications, reports, and required forms for public benefits
  • Ensure deadlines are met and appointments are kept
  • Communicate with the Social Security Administration, healthcare providers, and other public agencies on behalf of participants
  • Explore additional sources of information and identify resources to support each individual's needs
  • Problem‑solve issues that may arise during the benefits process
  • Maintain thorough documentation and accurate records
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with participants, team members, and referring partners
  • Work independently while managing multiple priorities
