Position: Court Services Officer 3
Location: North Brunswick Township

Job Summary

New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual with field supervision and administrative experience who enjoys working with youth to join the Office of Probation Services, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (JISP) in the Central Regional Office. Under the general supervision of the Court Services Supervisor 4 or other supervisory personnel, the selected individual will primarily be responsible for field supervision coverage of juveniles in the community.

The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is designed to treat both adult inmates and juvenile offenders in the community under strict supervision.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $85,524.23 to $ for Schedule A, and $85,524.23 to $ for Schedule

B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

Remote Work

The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. Participation requires installation of a multifactor authentication app and high‑speed home internet access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to meet organizational and program goals.
  • Maintain and update documentation of work using a computerized system, databases, electronic files and spreadsheets.
  • Collaborate with other JISP staff, Family Court judges, treatment providers and community agencies.
  • Be available to participants, participants’ families, school officials, treatment and placement facilities staff, providing updates on participant progress and obtaining information throughout the program’s seven‑day, twenty‑four‑hour cycle.
  • Handle a variety of technical and client support and supervision functions while assisting program participants in attaining specific rehabilitative goals.
  • Work closely with youth and their families to identify educational, vocational, treatment and employment opportunities while monitoring compliance with court orders and JISP conditions.
  • Write assessments, progress reports, and provide recommendations and/or testimony for the Family Court as required.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in casework involving supervising offenders, and experience in gathering and analyzing case‑related information, determining client needs, providing access to social services, therapeutic interventions, or rehabilitative assistance, and/or preparing reports of findings and recommendations.

Substitution:
Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional or professional experience on a year‑for‑year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester‑hour credits. An associate degree and two years of additional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of experience.

Physical Ability

Applicants must be able to perform work requiring climbing, prolonged standing, stretching, bending and reaching. Some duties involve frequently lifting and carrying supplies weighing 30 to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

Driver’s License:
Required only if a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties.

Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security regulations.

Residency Law:
