Program DescriptionKYC Connections is a program that provides coordinated intake, assessment, and referrals to community-based services and support for LGBTQIA youth and young adults.
Position SummaryThe KYC Connections Program Manager is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of and administrative duties associated with the KYC Connections program. This position is responsible for receiving program referrals, coordinating intakes, providing relevant program linkage, and managing data collection and reporting. Evenings, some weekends, and travel will be required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Receives program referrals and opens cases in client EHR
- Coordinates initial screenings and intakes, makes relevant program linkages, and coordinates completion of program documentation.
- Monitors progress of referrals and linkage; engages in follow‑up as needed.
- Provides support to service practitioners and social work interns.
- Ensure timely completion of required funder and organizational paperwork, either independently or in collaboration with supervisor and grants manager.
- Manages collection and reporting of relevant data.
- Supports service coordination through collaboration with other agencies and providers.
- Builds and maintains relationships with community agencies and providers.
- Represents KYC at related community meetings, internal committees, and events.
- Develops and facilitates programming opportunities for ages 18‑24, which may include a specific recurring meetup for young adults.
- Engages with and supports participants during programming, which may include 1:1 support sessions related to referral and linkage with internal and external partners, and other relevant duties.
- Participates in staff meetings and other organizational meetings or events.
- Opens and closes the drop‑in center when requested.
- Other position/mission-related duties as necessary or as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a social service‑related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. LSW or similar licensure preferred.
- Outgoing personality with a high level of comfort meeting new people and exemplary customer service.
- Experience working with LGBTQIA+ youth/young adults.
- Experience working with survivors of violence, crime, and/or assault; knowledge of specific needs.
- Experience in case management or working in community‑based services.
- Knowledge of Marsy’s Law and other practices related to victim/survivor rights and advocacy.
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate independent living skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work on a team and independently to create and deliver effective programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth development, adultism, and intersectional identity.
- Knowledge and ability to serve as a resource and consultant to youth, families, youth‑serving professionals, and community members on LGBTQ+ youth issues.
- Knowledge and experience with positive youth development and empowerment models in youth programming and approach.
- Knowledge and understanding of practices related to Trauma Informed Care and Racial Justice.
- Commitment to KYC’s goals and mission.
- Working knowledge of landlord/tenant law
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or access other means of transportation in order to travel locally for business related to the position.
- Maintains driving privileges as determined by the OH BVM, as well as proof of insurance.
- Experience in program management/development
- Supervisory experience
- Strong leadership capacity.
- Self‑motivating, with exceptional time management skills.
The KYC Connections Program Manager position is a full‑time, non‑exempt position with a minimum starting salary of $24.04/hour. Benefits include a flexible, hybrid, and wellness‑centered work environment, mileage reimbursement, opportunities for professional development, LISW‑S supervision in support of independent licensure, 10 paid holidays, IRA enrollment, student loan repayment, and flexible/unlimited PTO.
Kaleidoscope Youth Center is formally based in Columbus; however, operates a hybrid work environment, with the understanding that some positions may require more in‑person time than others. Applicants should live in Ohio or be willing to move to Ohio. We expect this position to be relatively divided between remote work and position‑related in‑person meetings; with occasional conferences, meetings, and/or events. Candidates should expect to be present during all open program hours, unless otherwise engaged in outreach activities.
