Job Description & How to Apply Below

Every child deserves a strong start in life. As an Early Head Start Home Visitor, you are the bridge that connects pregnant women and families with young children (ages 0–3) to the tools, confidence, and community resources they need to thrive.

Home Visitors organize, plan and facilitate weekly home visits with families that integrate all Head Start components (areas of health, early childhood education and development, nutrition, family life skills, safety, and mental health). Referring and linking families with other community programs is also an essential component of this position.

If you are passionate about early childhood development, equity, and making a direct impact right here in our mountain communities, and are bilingual in Spanish and English, we want to meet you!

Hiring Range: $25.50–$29.96. The maximum pay for this position is $34.42.

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The schedule varies based on the needs of families. Weekends and evenings may be required.

Location: This role requires weekly in‑office collaboration at our main office in Edwards, CO, with some remote work flexibility, while spending meaningful time traveling to visit families right in their homes across Eagle County.

Employee Housing is available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empower Families at Home:
Plan and lead weekly 90‑minute, child‑focused home visits. You’ll use the Parents As Teachers curriculum to give parents the skills to support their child’s early developmental milestones.

  • Track & Celebrate Development:
Administer evidence‑based screenings (vision, hearing) and use the Teaching Strategies GOLD tool to assess growth and set actionable individual goals alongside parents.
  • Connections:
Use a strengths‑based, two‑generation approach to link families to vital community programs, track child health statuses, and support medical/dental follow‑ups.
  • Build Community:
Organise and facilitate dynamic parent committees, group socials, and program events, occasionally providing safe transportation in an Eagle County vehicle.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

Minimum of 2 years working directly with families, human services, or within an early childhood education setting. (Previous Head Start experience is a plus, but not required!)
