Different Mindset, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing women with critical support in resource navigation, application assistance, advocacy, and referrals. By offering guidance on navigating complex systems, organizing documentation, and partnering with agencies and community organizations, we help reduce barriers and foster accessibility. While we do not provide financial aid, legal advice, or approvals, we are committed to empowering women with the tools and knowledge they need.
Based in collaboration with nonprofits, healthcare providers, and other partners, we strive to deliver coordinated and impactful assistance.
This is a hybrid volunteer role for an Intake & Support Advocacy & Navigation team member at Different Mindset, Inc., based in Hyattsville, MD, with flexibility for some remote work. Responsibilities include conducting client intake to assess needs, providing navigation support for accessing community resources, coordinating with housing assistance programs, advocating for clients, tracking case progress, and following up to ensure successful service outcomes.
The role focuses on offering compassionate support and efficient communication with clients and stakeholders.
Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to effectively advocate for clients and build relationships with community partners.
Experience with Client Intake, including documentation and assessment of needs to guide service delivery.
Customer Service skills and the ability to address client concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Familiarity with Insurance processes and navigating community resource systems is advantageous.
Proficiency in organization, time management, and attention to detail.
Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
Understanding of community resources and a passion for supporting underrepresented populations is highly valued
