Brief Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in the field of social or human sciences from a recognized university. Minimum of two years work experience with children in the mental health field or related social service field. Requires experience in customer service/customer relations. Requires the willingness and ability to work irregular hours as needed to ensure quality standards are met in service delivery. (BHRS certification requires a Bachelor’s degree in a social service field.)

• Must possess good working knowledge of community social service resources, basic crisis management skills, behavioral health resources, ability to provide trauma-informed care and a commitment to the Sanctuary Model components.
• Ability to communicate clearly and in an emotionally intelligent manner with clear, polite, and respectful communication with staff, youth served, administration, public school personnel, and the community- in person, through written correspondence and on the telephone.
• Must demonstrate professional and ethical behavior as well as the ability to maintain strictest confidentiality guidelines for interactions regarding client information at all times.
• Ability to work well under pressure meeting deadlines with efficiency and consistency while maintaining a balance between good physical and mental health and the job requirements.
• Such specialized training and/or certification in mental health services or related field as may be required in order to provide adjunctive services, i.e. Children Case Management Certification; BHRS, and state mandated trainings, etc.
• Ability to consistently practice and promote the Sanctuary Model’s seven commitments of: non-violence, emotional intelligence, social learning, open communication, social responsibility, democracy, and growth/change.
• Exhibit ability to effectively organize and plan field-work schedule to best service and maximize the needs of clients, i.e. arranging home based meetings, agency meetings, care coordinator meetings.
• Current Oklahoma Operators Driver's License and a good driving record acceptable to the insurance company insuring the agency vehicles. Must provide own transportation.

Example Of Position Responsibilities

• To provide targeted support services (behavior management, daily living skills, social skills); linkage with community supports; referral to local needed services; advocacy; service coordination; and follow-up on behalf of client and their family who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral challenges that are significantly interfering with their success at school, home, work or in the community.
• To provide services consistent with the Sanctuary Model.
• Provide basic social skills training in such areas as: anger management, feelings identification, positive interpersonal communication, impulse/self-control, healthy relationships, and other related coping skills, using a best-practice curriculum.
• Responsible for submitting accurate and timely monthly and quarterly service numbers as required/requested.
• Responsible for providing direct/indirect case management and/or rehab. services to maintain minimum agency productivity requirement of 22.5 billable service hours per week.
• Be able to engage the client in an emotionally intelligent manner so as to enhance positive rapport and facilitate future positive interactions.
• To help de-escalate clients who are agitated, anxious, angry, or in other vulnerable emotional states.
