CIS Personnel Development Coordinator - Limited Service

The Department for Children and Families' Child Development Division (CDD) is hiring a CIS Personnel Development (PD) Coordinator. This position works in CDD's Children's Integrated Services (CIS) team, which implements a system of early intervention, family support, and prevention services that help ensure the healthy development and well-being of young children. CDD is housed in the Waterbury State Office Complex (WSOC).

The PD Coordinator position is a hybrid position allowing for some remote work. The CIS unit also has weekly in-person meetings in Waterbury, and occasionally holds other team events on-site—a successful candidate should have a reliable way to get to Waterbury as needed for these activities.

A CIS Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for ongoing coordination of a Comprehensive System of Personnel Development for CIS providers. This includes:

  • Leading CIS personnel recruitment and retention;
  • Collaborating with State of Vermont partners, Vermont's institutes of higher education, and others to support the preparation for those who may enter the field of early childhood;
  • Providing professional development consultation and technical assistance to CIS regional teams;
  • Planning and implementing workforce training activities for the CIS system.

Needed experience for this position includes:

  • Experience working with young children and families;
  • Experience working with children with specialized needs or risk factors;
  • Experience in the development and provision of training and professional development activities;
  • Experience providing technical assistance, coaching, and/or mentoring to staff working with young children and families;
  • Experience implementing policies and processes that minimize differences in client service utilization, as well as maximize provider recruitment and retention.

Skills needed for this position include:

  • Reliability;
  • Well developed organizational skills;
  • Self-motivation, independence, and the ability to work autonomously;
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

We have a diverse team that relies on teamwork and collaboration. Applicants with different and/or unique backgrounds, experiences, and/or perspectives are encouraged to apply. This is a Limited Service position dependent on grant funding, but that is expected to be extended annually.
