Schedule:
Office located in Hendersonville, NC;
Full-Time.
Typical hours are 1st shift, Monday-Friday, though the schedule is flexible based on client/family needs. This role blends office collaboration and remote flexibility - on-site 2-3 days per week with the option to work from home when not in the office or traveling to family homes. Travel will also include various areas/counties; an agency vehicle or mileage reimbursement is available.
Your Impact: As our Family Case Worker

, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping children move from uncertainty into permanency. You’ll support prospective adoptive families, walk alongside them through the home study and placement process, and collaborate with our state and county partners to ensure every child is matched with a family who will walk with them for life. Your work directly shapes a child’s future, and strengthens the broader fabric of resilience in our communities.
This role offers the rare opportunity to blend relationship-building, clinical insight, compliance expertise, and creative problem-solving within a supportive trauma-informed care environment.
Hiring Range : $42,700 to $48,500 annually
- Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Candidates who meet only the minimum requirements can expect to start at the beginning of the range, while those with additional and relevant experience and/or advanced skills may be considered for higher starting pay within the range.

Experience:
- Meets requirements for a Qualified Professional which are:
- Master’s degree in a human services or related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year supervised clinical experience working with children and families; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and two years’ experience with the current population; or
- Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field and four years’ experience with the current population.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in working with children and families required
- Prior foster care licensing and case management experience preferred
- Prior adoptions experience preferred

- Cultural humility and the ability to work with individuals of all identities and backgrounds
- Exceptional communication—written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and client data systems
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation according to state standards
- Comfort with public speaking, marketing, and representing Crossnore at community events
- Creative thinking, flexibility, and a sense of humor
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
- Commitment to trauma-informed care and ongoing professional development
