Position identifies the needs of Native Americans, their families, communities, and undertakes activities to meet those needs through cultural sensitivity. These activities are designed to strengthen Native American families by breaking down the barriers that inhibit economic and social self-sufficiency. A primary goal being the prevention of neglect, abuse, and exploitation of Native American children and families.
Position Description Job Specification
Selective Position RequirementPossess at least one (1) year of experience working with the Native American population in areas such as housing, employment, health services, Native American rights, or public assistance.
The office location for this position is 199 Ferry Lane. St Ignace, MI 49781 and the counties served are Antrim/Charlevoix/Emmet. This position has the ability to work hybrid (combination of remote and office). Selected candidates who have been approved to work hybrid must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.
Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
- A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.
- A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.
- Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
