Position Summary
Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine’s Working Forward initiative. As such, this position’s work location is designated as hybrid. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit’s business needs. This is position is based in Chapel Hill, NC, with a combination of on-site and remote work, including occasional statewide travel for trainings and stakeholder meetings as assigned.
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Social Work Practitioner to join the North Carolina Psychiatry Access Line (NC- PAL ) team, supporting the new Adult Substance Use and Mental Health consultation line in the role of Behavioral Health Consultant. NC- PAL and NC MATTERS are sister programs that enhance care for children, adolescents, and perinatal patients with behavioral health needs in primary care settings through provider education, capacity building, and care coordination support.
The NC- PAL Behavioral Health Consultant serves as a frontline clinical resource for health care professionals statewide by providing care coordination, referral support, resource consultation, and technical assistance. This position also supports provider education, outreach, stakeholder engagement, and the development of behavioral health resource materials.
