Position: Family Centered Treament Recovery Practitioner (CARES)

Arkansas Cares Program Family Centered Treatment-Recovery Practitioner

We are seeking a compassionate, engaging, and organized individual to join our Arkansas CARES program to provide Family Centered Treatment-Recovery services. Family Centered Treatment-Recovery (FCT-R) offers intensive, home-based, trauma-informed treatment tailored to families affected by substance use. It addresses the underlying causes of substance use and its impact on family stability, attachment, and safety, including the need for out-of-home placement. By strengthening family bonds, FCT-R promotes healing and long-term recovery, addressing the unique and complex needs of its target population, particularly those struggling with substance use disorders (SUD).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete an intensive training program and work with some of the most challenging and complex client systems.
  • Work with the entire family system and address problematic Areas of Family Functioning as outlined in the FCT Model.
  • Provide both direct face-to-face and indirect contacts, and collaborate with the systems supporting the members and their family.
  • Maintain a minimum of two multi-hour treatment sessions per week with each family system.
  • Provide therapeutic services including screening, initial recovery assessment, crisis intake, comprehensive family evaluation, monitoring family/parental progress, 24/7 crisis response, after-care linkage and follow up, development of short and long-term family goals with measurable outcomes, and participation in Child & Family Team Meetings.
  • Attend weekly case review supervision and provide thorough documentation including treatment plans, FCT fidelity documentation, progress notes, monthly reports and assessments.
  • Testify in court as subpoenaed or requested.
  • Administer drug screens.

The FCT-R Practitioner will provide Family Centered Treatment
-Recovery to families and guide them through the four phases of treatment in a timely manner. The FCT-R Practitioner will provide FCT-R to fidelity in terms of both meeting the intensity of the service delivery as well as completing the documentation required in each of the four phases. The FCT-R Practitioner will complete and maintain all program fidelity documents in a timely manner.

Family Centered Treatment-Recovery is a comprehensive treatment program that requires FCT-R Practitioners to make at a minimum two multi-hour face-to-face sessions per week with each family system with the exception of titration h FCT-R Practitioner will maintain a case load of an average of five to six, FCT-R-referred families. A FCT-R Practitioner works a schedule that is flexible and able to meet the needs of each family they serve.

This will often require meeting in the evenings and on the weekend. The FCT-R Practitioner is a member of a team that meets weekly. Participation in team meetings are mandatory and require the FCT Practitioner to serve as facilitator and recorder on a rotating basis. The FCT-R Practitioner will present cases to the team using the MIGS format on a rotating basis.

May assist with training as requested by management. May assist/complete other projects/duties as requested by management.

Required Training for the Provision of FCT-R Services:

  • Complete the Wheels of Change online training course within 6 weeks of hire.
  • Be fully FCT Certified (completed the online training program and field-based competencies) within 6-9 months of hire.
  • Complete all activities necessary to maintain certification from FCTF including recertification every two years.
  • Complete other training requirements as outlined in the FCT Training Plan or as directed by the Supervisor, Trainer, or Director of Training.

Qualifications:

FCT-R Practitioners will be credentialed as a Qualified Professional Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience with the population served or master's degree with a minimum of 1 year experience with the population served; FCT Practitioners must be fully certified in FCT within twelve months of their initial hire via the official FCT certification program, Wheels of Change©.
