Family Services Specialist IV
This position is located in McAlester, Oklahoma. Family Services Specialist IV - H14D Annual Salary: $49,806.90 + Full State Employee Benefits
Travel is occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
This position is designed for telework/work from home however, the employee will be training in an office setting (in person) for the first 120 days and evaluated on performance before working from home full time. All telework positions are subject to Agency Director approval.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A master's degree and one (1) year of qualifying experience.
- OR a bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in professional social work.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one (1) year of experience in professional social work for each year of the bachelor's degree.
- OR four (4) years of experience as a Family Services Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
- This is a leadership-level position where employee provides direct supervision to Family Service Specialists assigned to the Virtual Eligibility Center for Comprehensive Services.
- This position will supervise, administer policy and procedure, provide training and support to a staff of professional Family Services Specialists who provide a wide variety of casework which may include, but not be limited to SNAP, Daycare, and ABD services.
- Review and respond to requests for information and clarification of laws, policies, and procedures surrounding social safety net programs; provide responses to inquiries concerning applications and review filing requirements, due dates, and similar information.
- Coordinates with other staff or units as needed to clarify policies and procedures determines the status of individual applications, reviews and resolves problems; routes requests to appropriate staff and units for processing; and scans and uploads customer verifications.
- Enters and retrieves information into the system; receives and reviews documents including customer verification; proofreads previously entered data and makes routine corrections.
- Participates in staff conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings for the purpose of determining successful pathways for client success in reaching their individual goals and achieving self-sufficiency.
- This is primarily a telework position but does require some office setting on-boarding and training of new staff and more seasoned staff as required.
- Employee shall attend all training, meetings, and conferences as directed.
