Position: Housing Counselor

The position: We are seeking to fill a Housing Counselor position. We are looking for someone to provide customer service to applicants for SHA housing programs.

The ideal candidate has:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social services, social work, or related fields
    • May substitute an additional four years of relevant work experience for college level course work
  • Two years of experience in human services related non-profit public service, social services, human services, housing programs, or related fields
What will you do?
  • Conduct case management of challenging customers
  • Provide information and referrals for community resources
  • Analyze information needs of SHA applicants and of private market housing providers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service providers in the community
  • Take leadership role in identifying barriers to access for people with disabilities, immigrants, and other SHA customers
