Home Based Specialist
Futures First is seeking a PRN Home-Based Specialist to support families with children from birth to age five, including expectant mothers, through weekly home visits. This position requires regular travel and collaboration with families, in-home providers, and community partners. The Home-Based Specialist promotes healthy child development by fostering supportive parent–child interactions, providing education and resources, and building strong partnerships with families.
This role is also responsible for implementing all areas of the Head Start program, including assessments, case management, family goal setting, and referrals to community services.

This role offers an hourly pay range of $21.00–$28.00. The final hourly rate will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
Requirements
- Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits (bi-weekly for pregnant mothers in early pregnancy).
- Guide families on prenatal health, child development, nutrition, and parenting.
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans and activities with parents.
- Support family goal setting through strengths-based assessments.
- Make appropriate community referrals and provide ongoing case management.
- Maintain detailed records, case notes, and monthly progress reports.
- Collaborate with community partners and other Head Start departments.
- Ensure compliance with Head Start performance standards and internal policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner
- Patience, flexibility, curiosity, and resilience
- Skilled in early childhood development, health, and emotional intelligence
- Commitment to professional growth and collaboration
- Willingness to travel locally and occasionally stay overnight
Education and Experience:
- CDA (Child Development Associate) Home-Based Credential & Family Development Credential OR
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours in social work, human services, family services, or counseling
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with children ages 0–5
- CPR/First Aid certification (must be completed within 90 days of employment)
