Disability Rights Tennessee (DRT) seeks a Beneficiary Support Specialist to help Tenn Care members understand their rights, benefits, and available services. The Specialistassistswith questions, complaints, grievances, and appeals; connects members with Tenn Care programs and community resources; provides referrals and guidance on next steps; and conducts accessible outreach to members and providers.

• Knowledge of Tenn Care, Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA), Long-term Support Services (LTSS), and/or Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)
• Sound professional judgment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficient use of computers and word processing software. Ability to learn to use the Disability Advocacy Database or other case database used by DRT.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills even when navigating complex or sensitive topics.
• Ability to engage in logical analysis.
• Ability to work well as a member of a three-person program team and DRT team member

• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and with individuals who may require language assistance, auxiliary aids and services, reasonable accommodations, or alternative communication formats.

What Else You Should Know

• The Beneficiary Support Specialist must have either: (1) aBachelor’sdegree plus at least one year of professional experience in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field; or (2) aMaster’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  
  Thisisafull-time position at37.5 hoursper week, withflexibilityin thedaily schedule.
• This position is dedicated to performing Beneficiary Support System responsibilities under DRT’s Tenn Care contract.
• Thepositionserves the state of Tennessee andmayrequirestatewidetravel,including in-personassistancewhen requested and when other forms ofassistanceare insufficient to meet a member’s needs.
• The successful candidate must live within 60 miles ofDRT’sKnoxville,Memphisor Nashville office.
• DRT will provide necessary technology and equipment.
• Remote work may bepermittedwhen travel is not required.

Thesalary for this position begins at $49,500;the exactsalaryfor this position depends on experience, certifications,and skills.
