JOB SUMMARY: The RurAL CAP Disaster Response Case Worker provides direct support to individuals and families referred to Alaksa Volunteers in Disaster (AKVOAD) Halong Typhoon Long ‑ Term Recovery Group.
This role offers compassionate, culturally centered case management to survivors of Typhoon Halong. The ideal candidate is a good problem solver, people ‑ centered, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast ‑ moving recovery environment. This work will primarily take place in the Southcentral area but some support will be provided to survivors located in Bethel and Western Alaska.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with a team of disaster case workers and staff, primarily serving Survivors in the Southcentral area but also providing some support to survivors in remote Western Alaska.
- Attend regular team meetings, coordinated case management meetings and partner meetings.
- Manage a case load, supporting clients/survivors with goal-setting and recovery planning, resource navigation, and advocacy as needed.
- Coordinate services, resources, and follow – up with clients throughout their recovery process.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files and documentation in accordance with LTRG policies.
- Communicate with partner agencies to ensure continuity of care and avoid duplication of services.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation required for grants, compliance, and program evaluation.
- Support communication efforts, including email updates, announcements, and coordination with partner organizations.
- Assist with logistics for trainings, community meetings, and LTRG events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Use computers and computer programs effectively to enter data, create spreadsheets and process information, and develop documents, program and training materials.
- Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: desktop computer, telephone, copier, PC printer, and fax machine.
- Regular travel to rural Alaska and ability to carry out job responsibilities in rural areas without, or with limited, running water and sewer systems.
- Ability to sleep on floor in communities where no other lodging is available.
