HALO is seeking a dynamic and compassionate
Overnight Supervisor to provide leadership, supervision, and operational oversight during overnight hours within HALO's Transitional Living Program. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, stable, trauma-informed, and supportive environment for youth while providing direct supervision and guidance to overnight staff.
The Overnight Supervisor serves as the primary overnight point of contact for staff and is responsible for responding to youth needs, behavioral concerns, emergencies, staffing issues, facility concerns, and other situations requiring supervisory judgment. The Supervisor ensures that overnight operations are conducted consistently with HALO policies, program expectations, licensing and contractual requirements, and trauma-informed practices.
This position combines staff leadership, youth support, safety oversight, crisis response, documentation, and overnight program operations. The Supervisor is expected to model professionalism, sound judgment, appropriate boundaries, and a youth-centered approach at all times.
Responsibilities Youth Safety, Supervision, and Support- Provide active supervision and support to youth residing in the Home during overnight hours.
- Maintain a safe, secure, respectful, and welcoming environment for all youth.
- Monitor youth activities and interactions and respond appropriately to behavioral or safety concerns.
- Conduct or oversee required youth wellness and safety checks in accordance with program policy.
- Support youth in following program expectations while utilizing trauma-informed and strength-based approaches.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with all youth.
- Recognize and respond to signs of distress, crisis, conflict, or other concerns affecting youth safety or well-being.
- Support youth in developing independence, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and appropriate decision-making.
- Reinforce positive behavior and progress through appropriate encouragement and recognition.
- Protect youth confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HALO policy and applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide direct supervision, leadership, and direction to Overnight Youth Advocates
- Conduct shift assignments and delegate responsibilities appropriately including but not limited to, chore checks, transportation, curfew reminders, and medication administration .
- Ensure staff arrive on time, remain on duty, and are prepared to perform assigned responsibilities.
- Monitor staff performance, professionalism, communication, and adherence to agency policies.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and corrective feedback when appropriate.
- Address routine staff concerns and communicate significant performance issues to the HALO Home Manager and Senior Youth Advocate
- Ensure staff maintain appropriate professional boundaries with youth.
- Ensure overnight staff follow required supervision, documentation, safety, medication, communication, and emergency procedures.
- Assist with training, orientation, and onboarding of new overnight staff.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage throughout the overnight shift and promptly communicate coverage concerns to management.
- Model appropriate workplace behavior, professionalism, teamwork, and trauma-informed communication.
