Overview
Sentara Healthcare is hiring a full‑time Patient Care Specialist at SMG Family Medicine New Town, Williamsburg, VA. This day shift (Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.) requires no nights or holidays. In this role you will provide non‑clinical support within a physician's office and ensure an excellent patient experience by answering phones, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient questions. You will work as part of a highly collaborative team that focuses on delivering the best care for patients.

Responsibilities- Answer phones and address patient inquiries.
- Schedule appointments and manage the physician’s patient calendar.
- Provide non‑clinical support to facilitate patient care delivery.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative team environment.
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate’s degree or higher in lieu of the required experience is considered.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of customer service experience.
- At least 1 year working with health insurance plans, medical records data, medical terminology, registration, scheduling, or third‑party payers.
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
- Medical, dental, and vision plans.
